Elena K. Weitz is a Partner in the Williams Law Group and focuses her practice in all areas of Family Law. Elena devotes 100% of her practice to all areas of family law, including all aspects of divorce, separation, custody and parenting time, spousal and child support, equitable distribution of property, prenuptial agreements, mediation, arbitration, domestic violence, post-judgment matters and appeals, including trial representation. Elena has been practicing law for 18 years, 16 of which have focused entirely on family law. As a result of her extensive years of practice and focus on all areas of family law Elena has a keen understanding of both the legal processes, as well as the emotional and financial impact litigation has on her clients. Elena is committed to vigorously representing each of her clients and protecting their rights.
Elena earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology from Franklin & Marshall College and her Juris Doctor (JD) from Seton Hall University School of Law. During law school, Elena interned for the Honorable Philip B. Cummis, J.S.C., a now-retired Family Part Judge in Essex County, as well as for the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), providing services in the family and matrimonial department with a focus on domestic violence matters. She was also the recipient of the Seton Hall Law School Merit Scholarship, recipient of the Seton Hall University School of Law Public Interest Fellowship, and she was chosen to participate in the Courtroom Advocates Project which represents victims of domestic violence.
Elena is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, and is a member of the New York Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, Essex County Bar Association and Union County Bar Association. She volunteers her time as an Early Settlement Panelist in Essex County, during which he reviews pending divorce and family law cases to make recommendations regarding potential settlement.
