Rachel Brough was born in Queens, NY and was raised on Long Island before matriculating to the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Law. Rachel then earned her Juris Doctor law degree from Syracuse University School of Law before moving to the Upstate area of South Carolina in 2003.
Rachel began her legal career at the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s office, where she focused on domestic violence cases in Greenville and Pickens counties. Her experiences there, combined with her love of children, led her to the decision to enter private practice as a family law attorney in Spartanburg.
Rachel is involved in the community in a variety of ways, including her previous membership in the Junior League. She is a graduate of the Leadership Spartanburg Program. She was also part of the inaugural class of the United Way Fellows Program, which trains young leaders for participation in non-profit organizations. She currently serves as a member of the United Way Women United Advisory Board and has also previously served on the Board of REACH Upstate.
In 2014, Rachel received the distinction of being among the nationally-ranked Top 10 Lawyers under 40. She has also spoken on issues of family law as a presenter for the National Business Institute’s Seminar on Advanced Family Law.
