Tyler C. Shultz is a native to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, having grown up in Normalville, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Connellsville Area Senior High School in 2013, Tyler attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated cum laude in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He then travelled to Knoxville, Tennessee to attend Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in 2020, obtaining his Juris Doctorate.
While attending Lincoln Memorial, Tyler was a traveling team member of the school’s burgeoning Mock Trial Team from 2018-2020. He received two C.A.L.I Awards for Excellence, one for Legal Communication and the other for Trial Advocacy. Tyler was on the winning team of the Lincoln Memorial University Client Counseling Competition in 2017.
Tyler was also part of the first COVID class of law students, having been part of the first group of law graduates to take the bar exam in the pandemic. Passing the bar, Tyler became Attorney Shultz in December 2020, licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
The beginning of his career was under the tutelage of Bolkovac Law Office attorneys Mark D. Bolkovac and Ashley M. Lovelace. There, he was a general practitioner, taking cases from criminal defense to civil litigation. By November 2021, he was concurrently practicing part time through the Public Defender’s Office of Fayette County, having taken numerous cases to trial.
Tyler left the practice of criminal defense to take a part time position in the District Attorney’s Office of Fayette County in January 2024. He further opened The Law Office of Tyler C. Shultz and now practices in the counties of Fayette, Indiana, Westmoreland, Greene, Somerset, and Washington.
